After you have completed your tour, you will sit down with an admissions representative to discuss class schedules, cost, and financial aid. How do I apply for Financial Aid at Salon Success Academies?

How will Salon Success Academies prepare me for my state board exam?

Salon Success Academies makes sure that all students graduate fully prepared to take the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology exams. These exams are made up of two parts – a practical exam and a written exam. At Salon Success Academies students will participate in mock exams throughout the program, giving them the opportunity to practice their skills in the standardized exam format.

The salons at each campus offer a wide array of services for the general public. Each service is performed by a Salon Success Academies student, under the watchful eye of a certified instructor. What does a cosmetologist do?

A cosmetologist is someone who provides hair, skin, and nail services in a salon or spa. You could be cutting and coloring hair; performing chemical hair treatments, such as perms, providing facials, and giving manicures and pedicures. What does an esthetician do?

An esthetician helps clients understand proper skincare and provides skincare services. You'll be giving facials for many different skin types, performing hair removal, such as waxing, and even applying makeup for special occasions. What does a nail technician do?

A nail technician provides manicure and pedicure services in a salon or spa. You'll be applying nail polish and designing intricate nail art on both real and artificial nails. How long is the program?

The cosmetology program is 1,600 hours and meets all California state standards for licensing. The full-time program can be completed in as little as 10 months, and the part-time program can be completed in as little as 16 months.*

The esthetics program is 600 hours, and also meets all California state standards for licensing. The full-time program can be completed in as little as 5 months and the part-time program can be completed in as little as 7 months.*
